Working with the medium of Encaustic for 18 years has stretched my idea of how to create and think about painting. Using the pigmented wax that cools and can be reheated adds ideas of transformation and alchemy. The layering process that is expedited by using encaustic and the focus of temperature allows for a luminous glow and the ability for excavation of the history of the painting
